What is VoIP?
VoIP stand for “Voice over Internet Protocol.” It uses an internet standard (SIP for Standard Initiation Protocol) to send and receive calls via the internet and data networks. Because it efficiently uses your existing high-speed internet connection, it offers great savings on local, long distance, and international calls.
Can I use my current phone with BBTelsys?
Yes. BBT works with most phones as long as they’re connected to the BBTelsys phone adapter or broadband gateway device provided to you when you sign up for a plan. BBTelsys phone service also works on smartphones, laptops, and Apple’s iPod.
Can I keep my current phone number if I sign up for BBTelsys?
Yes. If BBTelsys’s network is covered in your area, we can usually port you existing phone number to our service. This is available for numbers in the U.S. only.

Can I use BBTelsys when I travel?
Yes. You can use BBTelsys where there is an unimpeded high speed internet connection, including wireless (Wi-Fi) connections.
Does BBTelsys provide internet service?
Individual residences will need to obtain internet service from a third party provider. We indirectly provide internet service for some businesses and multi-family communities.
Can I change my service plan?
Yes. Once you are a customer, you can change your service plan whenever you want, such as switching from the monthly to annual payment option or changing the number of minutes allotted on your current plan.
Can I keep my BBTelsys service and number if I move?
You can take your BBTelsys account with you anywhere and keep the same number. If you would like a different area code at your new location, you’re free to select a number from a variety of area codes throughout the country. You must notify customer service of the change in address for E911 purposes.
